Program from Monday, July 8th, 2019
The July 8th Monday meeting marked the start of the 2019-2020 Rotary year with the inauguration of our Club’s new president, Gord Faas and the new board.
Invocation was conducted by PP Walter Willms, PP Janet Kelly led the recital of the 4-Way Test and Bhav Dulay, registrar, acknowledged guests. Past District Governor Rick Caron led the induction ceremonies.
This year’s Rotary theme of “Rotary Connects the World” was a key focus of President Gord's first address to the Club. He spoke of how the projects and programs Rotary Club of Windsor (1918) has been involved in establishes the importance of our Club in our community and internationally. He also touched on the fact that our Club doesn't stand alone - that we've partnered with other Rotary Clubs to pursue various projects, such as planting trees in the Rotary Forests and to purchase books for a Junior High School in Ghana, to name a few. President Gord quoted Rotary International President Mark Daniel Maloney: His vision for building a stronger Rotary by "calling on leaders to expand connections to their communities and to embrace innovative membership models".
