Monday Recap
Our members recently enjoyed a special excursion to the Gordie Howe International Bridge, joined by several members of St. Matthew’s Anglican Church.
The group walked and cycled together to the centre of the bridge, taking in the incredible views and enjoying the opportunity to experience this landmark up close. With just a few drops of rain to keep everyone cool, it turned out to be a perfect day for the outing!
The walking group completed the round trip in about an hour, while those travelling by bicycle made the journey in even less time. The day wrapped up with lunch and good conversation at Rock Bottom Bar & Grill.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a memorable outing!
Call for Children's Fest Volunteers
Children’s Fest is just around the corner, and we need our Rotarians to come out and help make this signature event a success!
Like Art in the Park, this is an all-hands-on-deck event, and we’re asking all members who are available to volunteer.
Please email Notredame216michelle@gmail.com with your availability on September 12 and 13 as soon as possible so we can coordinate volunteer coverage and make sure we have enough hands to support the event.
Every helping hand makes a difference. We hope to see you there!
Do you Have A Computer To Donate?
Andrea is seeking a computer for the Syrian refugee family that has recently arrived in Canada. If you have a computer you would be willing to donate, please contact Andrea Cassidy.
A computer would help support the family as they settle into the community, providing access to important resources, communication, education and employment opportunities.

A Special Evening of Learning, Reflection, and Conversation

Truth & Reconciliation: Through the Eyes of Youth
Wednesday, September 30, 2026
Essex Centre Sports Complex – Shaheen Community Room 60 Fairview Ave. W., Essex
Hosted by the Rotary Club of Essex, this evening will feature two local participants from this year’s Honouring Indigenous Peoples (HIP) Youth-to-Youth Program, who will share their personal experiences and the lessons they gained through this meaningful journey.
The HIP Youth-to-Youth Program brings Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth together to build relationships through shared experiences, dialogue, learning, and cultural understanding. The program places an important focus on both Truth and Reconciliation.
This is a wonderful opportunity to hear directly from young people whose experiences offer hope for the future and remind us of the importance of listening, learning, and walking the path of reconciliation together.
Everyone is welcome, and light refreshments will be provided.
Youth voices matter. Truth comes before reconciliation.
