Our Club is proud to be a part of the annual Socks & Bottoms fundraiser, in conjunction with other Rotary Clubs in Windsor and Essex County. Check out the huge mountain of donations!
Huge thank-you to those who made donations, and to all the organizers of this project. Rebecca Rivard, Socks & Bottoms representative from our Club, did an amazing job and we thank her for all her effort. Donations were given to Windsor Essex Alliance, who are working to sort and distribute all the donated items to their member organizations who directly support people in our community experiencing homelessness and housing instability.
Our Young Rotary Leaders held their "Kettle Bells and Fellowship" Christmas event on Wednesday, helping The Salvation Army ring the kettle bells. Afterwards, they headed to John Max for some fun fellowship and introduced the new co-chairs of the Young Leaders for 2020: Jesse Thompson and Sydney Thompson (no relation 🙂). Looking forward to more great things from this group in the future!
Our Club has received 30 pieces of framed art (mostly purchased from exhibitors at Art in the Park, and purchased by Margaret and Ted Herbert over many years). We're looking to sell these quality art pieces to raise funds to drill a well in Ghana, Africa, in the donor's name.
THESE ARE BEAUTIFUL PIECES OF ART AT BARGAIN PRICES !!! – AND FOR A GREAT CAUSE: TO BRING WATER TO A VILLAGE THAT DESPERATELY NEEDS CLEAN WATER.
Any questions can be directed to Ron Arkell, Past President of Rotary Club of Windsor, and Team Leader going back to Ghana in early 2020. Cell 519-973-4052.
Please contact President-Elect Gerry Pocock at gpocock55@gmail.com or 519-890-2155 if you'd like to help ring the Christmas Kettles for The Salvation Army this season. Your help is greatly appreciated.
The Salvation Army needs your help with their Soup Kitchen on Wednesday nights. For more information, please contact Susan Falodun at falodun@uwindsor.ca, call her at 226 347-1565 or sign up online!
