The July 9th Monday meeting marked the start of the 2018-2019 Rotary year with the inauguration of our Club’s new president, Jules Hawkins. Invocation was conducted by Dr. Godfrey Bachiyie, and President Elect Gord Faas led the recital of the 4-Way Test. Assistant District 6400 (area 10) Governor Aruna Koushik (Rotary Club of LaSalle Centennial) led the induction ceremonies. This year’s Rotary theme of “Be the Inspiration” was the key focus of President Jules’ first address to the Club, a very personal speech that told the story of why he joined Rotary and the reasons behind him becoming more involved. He explained that one of his focus areas this year will be member retention, and ended by asking members to start thinking about the question “what would you like to do in our second century?”
