Monday, we welcomed Art in The Park co-chairs Allan Kidd and Jennifer Charron to talk about what we can expect for AIP 2022 and what they need from our members to make this a great event.
Allan and Jennifer, co-chairs of Art in the Park, shared their gratitude for the support that they've received from their team and the membership. They reiterated that this event is only possible because they have an army of dedicated volunteers.
This year's event will be different as the focus shifts to go, paperless, cashless and contactless to hopefully lead the way for post-covid festivals.
This is the 42nd AIP event, initially launched by the Art Gallery of Windsor in 1978 (but postponed for 2 years due to the pandemic). We want to make sure that the community knows that this event benefits those who need it most. 100% of the proceeds from this event are reinvested back into the communities globally. To date ,we've generated over $2.5 million for project to combat poverty, disease and illiteracy locally and around the world.
Allan shared that this unique event that offers everything from watercolours to weldings, attracts more than 20k visitors over the 2-day event without counting the children (because they're free).
The co-chairs of this event are asking for volunteers and mentees/ mentors to ensure that this event is one of the best ones to date and they would like to thank those who have already volunteered.
