ROTARY FOUNDATION
Membership recruitment is vital to the continued good work of Rotary clubs throughout the world. It is a necessary ingredient to the long-term future of our clubs and of our movement. The membership drive is not, however, simply about numbers and statistics. Some of the essential benefits that membership in Rotary bestows are friendship and fellowship. New members are new friends and without new friends we cannot achieve all that we hope and dream of. New members are like the stars who help illuminate the night; New members means there are more hands to join with as we link the world together and more members offer more opportunities to create a peaceful world.
Help light up the night. Have you asked someone in your community to join Rotary?

GSE TEAMS
Visiting Group Study Exchange Team from Finland
Interested in becoming a Group Study Exchange team leader? A group of four non-Rotarian professionals will be selected later in the year as team members, but if you’re interested in leading the team, which will travel to Hungary next spring, be sure to submit your application by September 1st. Team leaders help meld the members into a cohesive team, and lead them through their four-week vocational exchange experience. Applications can be found online at
http://www.rotary.org/RIdocuments/en_pdf/260en.pdf
Janet Kelly asks that everyone start thinking about who they know that could be a part of the next GSE trip, to Hungary, and also who could act as the leader.

S.R. Yogananda, PDG of District 3190 in India and National Coordinator of the India based 4-Way test project and his wife Raji looking through 2007-8 contest submissions
For Rotary Year 2007 - 2008, 77 District level winners and 18 National level winners were declared by the Awards Administrator, PDG SR Yogananda.
Twenty three of 28 R.I. Districts in India participated in this contest, which is sponsored by our Rotary (1918) club.
4-WAY TEST
Is it the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER
FRIENDSHIPS?
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
"The most powerful force in the promotion of international understanding and peace is exposure to different cultures. The world becomes a smaller, friendlier place when we learn that all people regardless of nationality desire the same basic things: a safe, comfortable environment that allows for a rich and satisfying life for our children and ourselves. Youth Exchange provides thousands of young people with the opportunity to meet people from other lands and to experience their cultures. This plants the seeds for a lifetime of international understanding."
We need homes for our Rotary 1918 incoming Exchange Students.
Talk to Janet Kelly if you or a person you know could host a student for a period of time.
