Pic#1 - Measles kills or blinds hundreds of children. Malnutrition is everywhere. Sixteen percent of children die by age 5. Measles kills more than 1,000,000 children worldwide each year.
Pic#2 - Picture of a vaccine cooler. There is no full time electricity and vaccines must stay chilled. This donated solar cooler was installed by Rotarian volunteer Peter Poirier.
Pic#3 - These batteries power the refrigeration unit.
Pic#4 - These solar panels collect energy from the sun and charge the batteries.
Pic#5 - This ambulance was donated by Windsor Rotarians and CIDA in 1995.
Pic#6 - Rotarian Bradley Sanger presented instrumentation to eye clinics in districts. Funding came from individuals, groups, the Rotary Fondation and CIDA - total value $70,000. Capacity building is the goal.
