Rotary Club of Windsor (1918)
Foundation Fund Page
Our club is Located in Windsor Ontario Canada
Welcome to the Rotary Foundation Fund Page.
When we talk about the Rotary Foundation Fund, it comes in two parts
First, because Rotary is a worldwide organization, there is "our Foundation"
the Rotary International Foundation
which provides humanitarian grants to improve the quality of life throughout the world. In addition, it supports international ambassadors of goodwill through education awards to university students and teachers, and through international exchanges of business and professional people. These programs are dedicated to furthering international understanding and friendly relations. This foundation is supported through voluntary contributions from Rotarians and friends of Rotary.
Second, "my Foundation"
the Rotary Club of Windsor Foundation Fund
was organized to accept, receive, hold, sell, invest gifts, bequests, devises, funds according to Letters Patent which were granted to certain members of the Rotary Club of Windsor on the 8th day of April, 1947.
The organization of this group is a bit different than the Club's - strictly
because we have to follow the by-laws set out and approved many years ago.
We have directors and officers - just as all companies do. There are no
advisors.

Children's Mental Health Ontario
- is the world's largest
and most international privately funded scholarship program. The Foundation awards both
one-year and multi-year ambassadorial scholarships, and three or six-month cultural
scholarships. Through grants for university teachers, Rotary districts may also provide
a Foundation grant to a university teacher to teach in a developing nation.
- marshals Rotary resources to accomplish
large-scale international humanitarian projects that emphasize self-help and improve
health, alleviate hunger and enhance human and social development. 3-H grants normally
range from US $100,000 to US $300,000 and last from three to five years.
- allow teams of non-Rotarian business and professional
people to venture abroad for four to six weeks to study the social, economic, business and
cultural conditions of their host countries and stay with Rotarians and their families.

The Group Study Exchange Program Objectives
- are made for education or humanitarian projects sponsored
and partially funded (at least 50%) by Rotary Clubs or districts in two or more countries.
-
is a worldwide campaign sponsored by Rotary International to eradicate a disease which
still claims the lives of 50,000 people and cripples half a million more, mostly young
people and children.
Rotary International has raised well over $241 million to pay
for this massive effort, which also involves immunization against such ailments as
whooping cough, tetanus and diphtheria. As of this writing, polio has been eradicated
in the Western Hemisphere and great progress is being made to complete the job everywhere
by the year 2000.
Our Polio Plus Donation
Our Rotary Club wrote out this big cheque for $100,000.00 in early 2003
directed to the Polio Plus campaign.
