Rotary Wheel

The Rotary Club of Windsor (1918) was instrumental in the Founding of the Easter Seal Society in Canada.
On November 28, 1922, its' predecessor, the Ontario, Canada Society for Crippled Children was organized in Windsor, Ontario.
The Windsor club administered the local Easter Seal office through the rest of the century even as the Easter Seals head office in Toronto gradually assumed control of programs in other cities.

In the Year 2001, The Easter Seals Society announced the opening of an Easter Seals office in Windsor and informed our club that they would be assuming complete control of all local activities.
The Rotary 1918 Club General Manager negotiated details of a two year transition process whereby the Easter Seals Society would assume complete local responsibility for the Easter Seals fund raising campaign and care for local disabled children.

Two thousand three was the last year in which our club was officially involved with the affairs of the Society although a number of our club members continue to assist the fund raising efforts.

The Easter Seals program was never officially a part of Rotary International, although many Rotary clubs were actively involved in its' administration and fund raising activities.
