Highlights from the District Assembly (September 13th) was presented, including the districts's plans for Membership, Public Image and Foundation. Rotary's new "People of Action" Public Image campaign was presented, including a showing of Rotary International's 90-second video. Click here to watch.
Michelle Morency spoke about the Young Rotary Leader's "Wine not Yoga" event.
This year's Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) will be taking place on Thursday, November 16th until Saturday, November 18th.
Frank Bagatto from the Peace and Conflict Resolution Committee explained the program. Working with children from Dougall School, members explain what Rotary does and that September 21st is International Day of Peace. A proposal to Rotary International about including a 5th element to the current 4-way test was also discussed: Will it contribute to a peaceful world? The goal is for peace to be top-of-mind.
Maureen Lucas and Shari Cunningham spoke about the Centennial. It's now time to share our story and reach out to the community. Make sure to come to the January 8th kick-off lunch and bring everyone! The goal of the project is to honour our past, and there is so much planned.
Janet Kelly recapped Children's Fest. The event was a success, and everyone was very positive about the new venue.
