The information below describes the Rotary sponsored activities of Windsor Rotary (1918) member Hasu Naik. Hasu has demonstrated what a committed Rotarian can do when the "Service above Self" model is taken to heart.

Member Hasu Naik carries out his work under the supervision of the Rotary (1918) World Community Service Committee.

India Matching Grant Application Approval Announcement

Glad to inform you that one of our biggest grants amounting to US $ 91,250 is approved. This is a novel project-Mobile Animal Lab and Dispensary, which we want to use for organizing Animal Treatment Camps amongst clusters of villages. This is adjunct to my Heifer Nurturing Project.

Rotarian Hasu Naik receives Awards


Rotarian Hasu Naik (Click on the image to enlarge it) At our June 28, 2004 and June 26, 2006 meetings, Windsor 1918 Rotarian Hasu Naik received awards in recognition of his World Community Service work. Hasu is active with Rotary International in raising money and carrying out service projects throughout India and Africa. The value of the projects he was previously and is currently involved in exceeds one million dollars. Our Club has donated approximately sixty thousand dollars of this amount. Dr. Naik last visited India in 2008 to carry on his work.

India has 45 million visually handicapped persons.

One out of every three blind people in the world lives in India - an estimated 13 million blind people live in India.
Every year, 2.3 million people develop cataracts in their eyes.
There are 2 million blind children in India. Only 5% of them receive any education.



Matching Grant Project No. 8053 submitted jointly by The Rotary Club of Windsor (1918) and the Rotary Club of Navasari was approved. The funds are being used to enable the work of the Rotary Eye Institute in India.

In the February/March, 2006 issue of Windsor Life Magazine,There is a feature story on Rotary 1918 member Dr. Hasu Naik and his humanitarian work in India and Nigeria (pg. 64).
